Which extension should I choose?
If it is available, .com is the most widely recognized. Canadian brands often pair it with .ca. If your name is taken, a field-specific extension like .studio, .consulting or .church can be clearer and more memorable.
Why is the renewal price different from the first year?
Some extensions are offered at a lower price for the first year. We show register, transfer and renewal prices side by side so you know exactly what to expect.
Are there requirements for a .ca domain?
Yes. The Canadian registry requires the registrant to meet Canadian Presence Requirements, such as being a Canadian citizen, resident or a business registered in Canada.
What happens if my domain expires?
Most extensions give you a 30-day grace period to renew, followed by a 15-day redemption period. Renewing early is always the safest choice.
How long does a transfer take?
Transfers can take up to 7 business days once you approve the request. Your website and email keep working during the move as long as your DNS stays the same.
Can I use my domain with hosting somewhere else?
Yes. DNS management lets you point your domain wherever you like, though keeping your domain and WordPress hosting together makes life simpler.
Do I need hosting to register a domain?
No. You can register a domain on its own and add hosting whenever you are ready, with your first 12 months of hosting free.
